Removal of Thallium from Aqueous Solutions by Adsorption onto Alumina Nanoparticles

چکیده

Thallium (I) was removed from aqueous solution by using gamma-alumina nanoparticles (?ANPs) materials as nano adsorbents. Varied experimental conditions such adsorbent dose, agitation time, initial concentration, pH, and temperature effects were carried out in batch view of the optimization thallium adsorption identification mechanisms system ?ANPs-Tl. The pH effect indicated a remarkable increase quantity Tl(I) for values ranging 4 to 8, an almost constant magnitude between 8 10, decrease above 10. Considering concentration 20 µg/L dose 1 g/L at value 8.5, removal achieved 95.12 ± 0.02% efficiency. pseudo-second-order kinetics Freundlich isotherm perfectly described mechanism. process reaction, highlighted thermodynamic investigations, found be spontaneous exothermic with coexistence physisorption chemisorption dominance physisorption. diffusion model predicted multi-linearity, suggesting involvement surface spread intraparticle sorption process. effective ?ANPs
